Ministry of Commerce, U.S. Delegation Discuss Bilateral Trade Cooperation

H.E. Rath Saravuth, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, received here on Feb. 17 a courtesy call from H.E. Jimmy Panetta, United States Representative, from the Democratic Party, USA, and his colleagues during the official visit to Cambodia.
In the meeting, H.E. Secretary of State extended a warm welcome to the U.S. delegation and exchanged views on the trade relations and cooperation between the two countries.
He also informed the delegation about the achievements and trade opportunities in Cambodia, and briefed them on the country’s trade policy and trade facilitation.
H.E. Rath Saravuth highlighted the potential of the Cambodian market and the integration of Cambodia trade into regional and world markets through a number of key Cambodian trade agreements, aiming to continuously expand and create additional markets to promote Cambodia’s economic growth and attract more investment companies to the Kingdom.
The U.S. remains the biggest market for Cambodian products, particularly garment, footwear, and travel goods.
Cambodia exported nearly US$10 billion worth of products to the U.S. in 2024, up 11 percent compared to a year before, according to a recent report from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia.
The Kingdom’s main products exported to the U.S. are apparel, clothing accessories, leather, travel goods, handbags, electrical machinery and equipment, and footwear, while it imports vehicles, machinery and mechanical appliances, medical equipment, and pharmaceutical products from the U.S.
