The Ministry of Women’s Affairs has warned Cambodian youth not to take February 14 as an opportunity to commit immoral acts and abandon Khmer morality, culture, traditions and customs.
The Ministry of Women’s Affairs observes that some young people still misunderstand the meaning of February 14, which some people, especially Christians, define as Valentine’s Day and that they should not deviate from the morals, culture, traditions and beautiful traditions of our Khmer culture.
The Ministry of Women’s Affairs would like to remind the people, especially young men and women, to uphold the honor and dignity and to participate in preserving and promoting the prestige of the nation, culture, traditions and customs of Cambodia, which is a precious heritage left from ancient times.
Cambodians should study, research and understand in depth from all angles on the meaning and content of this Valentine’s Day.
The Ministry of Women’s Affairs strongly believes that the people, parents, guardians, relevant authorities, young men and women will participate in educating their children, relatives or families in order to eliminate negative activities in society in the sense of jointly preserving the honor and cultural dignity and therefore the beautiful traditions and customs of our Khmer people to survive forever.
