Phnom Penh: During the holy month of Ramadan 2026, a U.S.-based Zakat Foundation has continued its financial support to Muslim communities in Cambodia through an iftar (fast-breaking meal) assistance program aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting social well-being.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the Cambodian Muslim Media Center, which has organized the distribution of food packages to 500 families, along with daily iftar meals for approximately 4,500 beneficiaries across various target areas in the Kingdom.
Dr. Sles Nazy, President of the Cambodian Muslim Media Center, expressed his sincere gratitude to donors and the Zakat Foundation of America for their continued support of the initiative. He stated: “This support is not only helping to ease the daily burden of families, but also reflects compassion and solidarity, enabling Muslims to fully observe their fasting obligations during Ramadan.”
He added that the assistance plays an important role in reducing the economic burden on underprivileged families.
The U.S.-based Zakat Foundation has also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing collaboration with local partners to support community development and enhance the well-being of Muslim communities in Cambodia in the future.
