The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM), on Wednesday, launched a leadership and innovation training course for its officials to boost productivity and widen the quality of work.
The Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology Thor Chetha, presided over the training, attended by officials from the ministry, the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), and the Tonle Sap Authority.
This is the first time the ministry has organised this training course for its civil servants. Chhy Vichara, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Civil Services, and Soly Vannpok, Deputy Director of the Royal School of Administration, also participated.
Chetha said that this training aims to provide civil servants under relevant ministries and institutions with knowledge, skills development, human resource management, leadership, and innovation for the unit to be effective, well-coordinated, and highly productive, in line with the first phase of the government’s Pentagonal Strategy led by Prime Minister Hun Manet.
He stressed that as a leader, one must be clear, thorough, and well-organised to perform well, as well as good cooperation to promote work and strong growth. Leaders need to be innovative and manage with a clear vision of the goals, and strategies to tackle challenges.
The minister advised officials that leaders should seek information from all angles, discuss in depth, and prepare more options. Leaders need to encourage and create good conditions for lower-level officials to actively participate.
In addition, the relationship between leaders and lower-level officials has been enhanced through innovations, making it easier for leaders to respond to crises.
