Cambodia and China vow to combat all forms of fake News created by unscrupulous groups
Cambodia and China are committed to combating all forms of fake news created by unscrupulous groups to maintain the peace, development, and protection of their iron ties.
This commitment was made during a meeting between the Cambodian Minister of Information, Neth Pheaktra, and the head of the propaganda department of the commission of the Communist Party of China, Yunnan Province, at Yunnan Provincial Media Center last Friday.
At the inaugural forum of the Voice of Heritage program titled “Travel in Yunnan to visit Angkor”, Neth Pheaktra, Cambodia’s Minister of Information, called upon the public and private media of both countries to unite in the fight against fake news, recognizing their crucial role in this digital age.
The Minister stressed that both sides have continued to do their utmost to promote tourism potential, investment, and other humanitarian activities in the interest of the people of the two countries.
Neth Pheaktra further revealed that the Ministry of Information of Cambodia has implemented a comprehensive strategy to combat all forms of fake news. This three-pronged approach, encompassing “mainstreaming, neutralization, and suppression”, is a robust response to the threat of fake news in the digital era.
He added that the prevention and elimination of all forms of fake news has been a joint task that called for the strengthening of information security and the provision of information security to users.Radio National Kampuchea
