Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, hosted an official reception in honour of Honourable Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, and his high-level parliamentary delegation during their five-day official and friendly visit to Cambodia.
Accompanying Samdech Khuon Sudary at the dinner at Rosewood Phnom Penh were the Chairpersons of the National Assembly’s commissions, the Chairman and members of the Cambodia–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group, and senior officials of the Secretariat-General of the National Assembly, according to a news release of the National Assembly.
In her remarks, Samdech highlighted that the historic visit marked a new milestone in bilateral parliamentary cooperation and people-to-people ties, underscoring the trust-based, people-centred, and results-oriented partnership between Cambodia and Saudi Arabia.
Samdech Khuon Sudary expressed satisfaction with the discussions, noting their candid, constructive, and productive nature, including both the bilateral dialogue and the courtesy call on Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate.
She expressed confidence that the delegation’s upcoming meeting with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, would further deepen the spirit of friendship and partnership grounded in mutual respect and mutual interests.
Samdech Khuon Sudary emphasised the importance of high-level exchanges in sustaining cooperation across various potential sectors such as trade, investment, energy, tourism, agriculture, and education.
She also reiterated the shared commitment of both countries to building peace, prosperity, and well-being for the two Kingdoms and peoples as well as regions and beyond.
“Our partnership remains strong and resilient in an ever-changing world,” Samdech stated. “But we must continue working closely to build a rules-based international order, promote open and inclusive multilateralism, and strengthen the voices of the Global South to shape an evolving multipolar world.”
Samdech Khuon Sudary expressed her sincere hope that the distinguished would enjoy the stay, experience Cambodia’s renowned hospitality, savour traditional Khmer cuisine, and appreciate the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.
Samdech concluded by leading a heartfelt toast to the good health and longevity of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia and His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, to the distinguished delegates, and to the peace and prosperity of both nations, and the enduring friendship and partnership between their peoples.
The reception served as a significant highlight of the delegation’s official visit, which reflects the deepening ties and growing cooperation between Cambodia and Saudi Arabia.AKP
