Zakat Foundation of America Partners with Cambodian Muslim Media Center to Distribute Qurbani Meat to rural villagers in Cambodia

June 7, 2025 – Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia

In the spirit of Eid al-Adha, the Cambodian Muslim Media Center (CAMM), with generous support from the Zakat Foundation of America, successfully implemented the Qurbani Project 2025, distributing essential meat packages to underserved communities in Kampong Chhnang Province.

The distribution event was led by Dr. Sles Nazy, President of Cambodian Muslim Media Center, in coordination with local authorities. It took place across two key locations Svai Pakao Village, Taneh Commune, Kampong Tralach Districtand Veal Kangok Village, Kampong Tralach District

A total of 580 Qurbani packages were distributed, directly benefitting 580 families—an estimated 3,100 individuals, including children. The initiative aimed to share the blessings of Eid and ensure that vulnerable families could celebrate with dignity and joy.

Dr. Sles Nazy, President of Cambodian Muslim Media Center expressed his gratitude for the support, stating, “This Qurbani project reflects our shared commitment to compassion and community. We thank the Zakat Foundation of America for their continuous generosity and trust in our mission to uplift the lives of Cambodian Muslim families.” Not only this projects but also some other like Masjid and Madrasah construction Project, water and sanitation well and Ramadan aids.

During the event, the Imam of the local Masjid also extended his heartfelt appreciation, saying,

 

“On behalf of the villagers, I sincerely thank the Zakat Foundation of America and all the donors who have supported this noble Qurbani Project. Your kindness has brought happiness and nourishment to our families during this blessed time. May Allah reward you abundantly for your generosity.”

The Qurbani Project continues to be a vital part of humanitarian relief efforts during Eid al-Adha, bringing communities together and reinforcing the values of sharing and solidarity.
