Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni said that more than 30 years of implementing the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia has brought peace and national unity. This success stems from the win-win policy directly implemented and led by the exceptional leadership of the President of the Senate Hun Sen.
The King made the address on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Constitutional Monument.
His Majesty also mentioned that the leadership of Hun Sen has achieved great success in defending the nation, religion, and monarchy, while “strengthening national unity, safeguarding Cambodia’s territorial integrity, preserving our precious sovereignty, and protecting the civilisation of Angkor to transform the nation into an ‘Island of Peace.’ This is grounded in liberal multi-party democracy, human rights, the rule of law, and fostering national development and prosperity.”
The King further noted that this remarkable achievement of the Constitution is a national legacy, which is being actively preserved and advanced by Prime Minister Hun Manet, who continues to lead Cambodia toward becoming an even more civilised nation.
Given that the 1993 Constitution has endured and remained stable for more than three decades, a significant milestone in the history of Cambodia, it is fitting that a Constitutional Monument now exists. It will serve as a reminder to future generations of Khmer people of the patriotic elites who established and enforced this supreme law. May all continue to respect the ethics and laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Fresh News
