PM leads delegation to ASEAN Summit in Malaysia

“This continues our diplomatic mission abroad aimed at strengthening ties with ASEAN countries by enhancing cooperation across all sectors to benefit the nation and the Cambodian people,” Mr Hun Manet said on his social media yesterday.
Mr Hun Manet and First Lady Pich Chanmony were accompanied by Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with other ministers, senior government officials and business representatives from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.
Under the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, the Summit will focus on advancing ASEAN Community building and is expected to adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 – a milestone that will reaffirm and enhance the region’s shared commitment to a resilient, innovative, dynamic and people-centred ASEAN.
The related summits will offer a platform for ASEAN to deepen and expand its relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as to engage with both the GCC and China on economic cooperation amid a shifting geopolitical and economic landscape.
While in Kuala Lumpur, Mr Hun Manet is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with ASEAN and other world leaders to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations on issues of common interest and concern, according to the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Mr Hun Manet and his delegation arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday evening, where they were welcomed by Malaysia’s Minister of Works, Alexander Nanta Linggi.
