
Philippine President to pay state visit to Cambodia next week

The President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., accompanied by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, will pay a three-day State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from Sept. 7-9, 2025, at the invitation of His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, according to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation yesterday.
During his stay, Marcos Jr. will pay a courtesy call on Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, and hold bilateral talks with Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace.
Both sides will discuss ways to deepen the close relations further and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, as well as exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern. The visit will also witness the signing of several bilateral cooperation documents.
In addition, the Philippine President will lay wreaths at the Independence Monument and at the Royal Memorial of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk “Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh,” the late King-Father of Cambodia.
The upcoming State Visit is expected to contribute to strengthening the bonds of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation in all areas between Cambodia and the Philippines. AKP
