Cambodia is pushing for a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism, Worldbridge Group, and Trip.com Group to boost sales of Cambodian tourism packages in the Chinese and other international markets, as tourists travelling with Trip.com Group are all quality, long-staying, and high-spending guests.
This was confirmed during a meeting between Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Neak Oknha Sear Rithy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Worldbridge Group, and colleagues on December 16, 2024, at the Ministry of Tourism.
On that occasion, Neak Oknha Sear Rithy informed the minister about the partnership with Trip.com Group, especially about the project to request a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism, Worldbridge Group, and Trip.com Group to promote the sale of Cambodian tourism packages to the Chinese market more widely.
The minister expressed full support for the cooperation in promoting Cambodian tourism by Worldbridge Group, a large company in Cambodia, and Trip.com, a leading company in the world. He said that if the memorandum of understanding is achieved, cooperation in the tourism sector will be expanded more widely and will further attract more quality international tourists to Cambodia.
According to Neak Oknha Sea Rithy, international tourists who come through Trip.com Group are all quality tourists, with the company preparing to visit and stay for a long time, spending a lot, especially in addition to tourists; there may also be investors and businessmen. Rithy said that if Cambodia partners with Trip.com Group more broadly, it will mobilise more profits for the tourism sector, the investment sector, as well as the Cambodian national economy.
