Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, on January 14, 2025, met and provided recommendations on the work performance of the leaders in charge and civil servants of the Department of Health Planning and Information to provide a stronger position and further increase work efficiency in this new year, especially related to health planning and information.

The professor said that the Department of Health Planning and Information must continue to pay high attention to reviewing and planning strategies and policies of the Ministry of Health to contribute to the implementation of the Pentagon Strategy—Phase 1 of the Royal Government—in developing human capital for sustainable economic growth. The Ministry of Health has set the health objective as “improving health outcomes and increasing financial support for access to quality health care services with equity.”

Taking this opportunity, the Minister also gave key recommendations for further work to be implemented by the department:

1. Pay attention to the development process and implement a comprehensive plan to monitor and evaluate health resources and services in accordance with national policies, strategies, and goals and adapt to available resources.

2. Strengthen collaboration and coordinate work with relevant health units, institutions, or partners with accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness in the health sector, especially budget allocation focused on priority action plans.

3. Manage quality health data, conduct evaluation studies, and analyse clear data before preparing policies and plans, especially focusing on the benefits of target populations, emphasising the expansion of social health protection to all individuals in order to move towards universal health coverage.

4. Pay attention to strategic reform in planning work by receiving feedback from relevant operational parties to improve and increase work efficiency, especially by preparing a framework of achievement indicators for monitoring and evaluating all work activities of relevant units.

The Minister also thanked, appreciated and encouraged the leaders and civil servants of the Department of Health Planning and Information who have worked hard to perform their duties well in the past.

The Minister wished the leaders and civil servants of the Department of Health Planning and Information all success in fulfilling their duties in this new year.
