Govt launches logo design contest for Francophonie Summit 2026

Synopsis: The Summit, held every two years, will be hosted by the Kingdom next year.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced a logo design competition for the 20th Francophonie Summit to be hosted by Cambodia in 2026. The winning logo will be used in all official documents and side events associated with the summit.

According to the ministry’s announcement on Wednesday, participants have been invited to design a logo based on the theme, ‘La Paix, Vecteur pour un Développement durable’, which translates to ‘peace, a vector for sustainable development’. The contest is open to both individuals and groups.

The winning entry will receive 6,000,000 riel, while 3,000,000 riel 2,000,000 riel will be awarded to the second and third place holders, respectively.

Submissions for the contest, which is open until September 30, must be sent to:[email protected], with the logo design and a written explanation of its meaning.

Entries will be judged by the National Organizing Committee for the 20th Francophonie Summit.

Hak Kimsrun, a civil engineering student at the Preah Kossomak Polytechnic Institute, said the contest offers young people from all backgrounds a chance to showcase their talent and creativity on an international stage.

“This is a great opportunity for youth and an honour to have one’s design selected for such a major global event,” he said.

Seun Sam, a policy analyst at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said the summit holds historical and cultural significance for Cambodia. Sam added that French was once widely spoken among older generations and government officials due to Cambodia’s more than 90 years under French colonial rule.
