Distribution of land title certificates expected to complete in 2027
Prime Minister Hun Manet hopes that the distribution of land title certificates will be completed in 2027, a strategic time to celebrate the 40th anniversary (1989-2029) of former prime minister Hun Sen initiating the granting of private ownership of land to Cambodian citizens.
The Prime Minister made the expectation while presiding over the annual meeting of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, held here this afternoon.
Hun Manet asked the provincial and municipal governors to actively participate and manage effectively the issuance of land title certificates for the citizens quickly and with a high sense of responsibility.
The Premier also urged the completion of land registration by 2025 in line with the ministry’s plan and the continuation of resolving land disputes and remaining Borey (gated housing communities) issues to a minimum level to provide confidence to investors, strengthen the Cambodian economy and resilience, expand new industries, increase added value, build Cambodia’s competitiveness, and maintain social harmony.
According to the premier, approximately 1 million parcels of land have been surveyed and demarcated, with another 1 million parcels remaining. Kampong Cham province is the first province to complete the land survey and demarcation.
At the same time, the Prime Minister urged to continue organising and managing the Tonle Sap area to become a highly efficient economic centre and find appropriate solutions to address the remaining problems in the Angkor area. AKP
