Chinese Ambassador, Health Minister honour traditional Chinese medicine team completing Cambodia mission

Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin and Health Minister Professor Chheang Ra presided over a ceremony on Monday to present medals to a team of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) specialists from Chengdu, Sichuan province, who completed a year-long medical mission in Cambodia.

The ceremony, held at the ministry, also welcomed the fifth-generation Chinese medical team, marking the continuation of cooperation between Cambodia and China in the health sector.

The event was attended by senior officials from the ministry, leaders of the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital Preah Kossamak, members of the Chinese medical team and other distinguished guests.

Prof Ra expressed his appreciation and profound gratitude to the Chinese government, relevant institutions and the medical team for their continued support and cooperation.

He said the valuable cooperation has contributed significantly to improving healthcare services in Cambodia and expressed hope that the partnership would continue to be strengthen and expand for the benefit of the people of both countries.

During their one-year mission, the fourth-generation team provided medical consultations and treatment to approximately 11,000 patients.

The team also conducted healthcare missions in 20 capital and provincial areas, providing direct medical services to more than 4,000 people in local communities.

These activities strengthened the provision of traditional Chinese medicine services in Cambodia, expanded access to healthcare in local communities and promoted the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two countries healthcare professionals.

 

 

 

 

The presentation recognised the team’s dedication, commitment and valuable contributions to serving Cambodian people and improving the quality of healthcare services in the country.

The ceremony also highlighted the strong friendship and growing cooperation between Cambodia and China, particularly in the health sector.

Health cooperation between the two countries has helped strengthen Cambodia’s healthcare capacity and created opportunities for professionals from both countries to exchange knowledge, technology and experience, contributing to better health and wellbeing for Cambodian and Chinese people.
