A small mosque in a remote area of Koh Sambeay commune, Steung Trieng province, with the sponsor of the Zakat Foundation OF America through the Cambodian Muslim Media Center, has been handed over after its completion

Steung Trieng: While Cambodia is now peaceful and fully religiously harmonized, the Muslim community has made significant progress, especially in the area of infrastructure that serves the worship of Muslims in local areas such as mosques.

In fact, a beautiful small mosque, funded by the Zakat Foundation Of America, has just been completed and inaugurated in the presence of H.E Sles Nazy, Advisor to the Ministry of Information and President of the Cambodian Muslim Media Center.  In a remote area of Damrei Pong village, Koh Sambeay commune, Siem Bouk district, Steung Trieng province on January 20, 2023.  The ceremony was also attended by the management of the mosque, the Imam Hakem Ustaz and many people.

Addressing the people who participated in the program, H.E Sles Nazy brought a message from H.E Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information, who always pays attention to the people in the community.

H.E Sles Nazy continued that in order to contribute to the Royal Government in the development of the community, as well as to see the suffering of the people about the lack of places to practice religious beliefs, the Cambodian Muslim Media Center with partner organizations, always seeks to provide the mosque.  Islam to alleviate the suffering of the people in some localities often comes as well.  The small mosque on offer is another new achievement of the Zakat Foundation Of America in Cambodia, it’s name Masjid Al-Umma, measuring 10m x 12m, with a total budget of over $ 30,000, sponsored by  The Zakat Foundation Of America provides through the Cambodian Muslim Media Center.  Along with the construction of the mosque, we have also provided bathrooms, wells for the convenience of the people in the community.

On this occasion, H.E Sles Nazy called on all people to know how to take care of the common property without looking at each other, to be united as a whole, to be united and cooperate to take care of this mosque.  Aesthetics for a long time to be able to share the use of children from generation to generation.

On the other hand, Mr. Slaiman Kriya, the Hakem of Masjid Al-Umma, representing all the people in this community, expressed his enthusiasm and happiness to receive this beautiful mosque and he would like to thank to His Excellency Sles Nazy, the team, as well as the philanthropists through the United States Foundation, who have considered and alleviated the suffering of all people, because this achievement is really a necessary need to practice religious beliefs.

It should be informed that after the meeting and handing over the small mosque, H.E Sles Nazy also provided some Quran to be read to the mosque management, a set of azan speakers and some clothes to the students. And then the People in the community as well as eating solidarity food in a happy atmosphere.
