Many Khmer tourism, agricultural, handicraft and other cultural products were displayed at the ‘The Colors of the World Fair’ which ended on Sunday in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Cambodian booth at the expo drew a large crowd with the country aiming to boost tourism links with the Middle East and West Asia.

Keo Buntheng, Commercial Attaché to the Cambodian Embassy in the Republic of Türkiye, attended the expo, representing the Cambodian government.

The expo brought together 13 countries, including Cambodia, along with companies and travel agencies in Türkiye, to showcase tourism, culture and agricultural offerings.

It also served as a platform for companies and enterprises in the tourism sector to meet, network and find business partners.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Tayfun Sancar, head of TUROYD – an association of hotels and tour operators in Türkiye and one of the event sponsors – said the fair is becoming Istanbul’s most vibrant event, which provides an opportunity to “connect, promote, and share common cultures”.

Launched in 2022 in Istanbul, the expo aims to promote cultural exchange and sustainable tourism growth by highlighting the rich cultural identities of participating countries.
