Philippines interested in working with Preah Sihanouk on marine resource conservation
The Philippines is interested in working with Cambodia’s Preah Sihanouk province for mutual support in preserving marine resources.
Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, Ambassador of the Philippines to Cambodia, highlighted the intention in a meeting with Mang Sinet, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province, on Nov. 10.
Sinet supported Ms. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo’s intention and looked forward to detailed technical discussion.
He also congratulated the 67th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Cambodia and the Philippines and briefed his guest on the development and economic aspirations of the province.
He added that in 2023, the export-import volume of Preah Sihanouk’s special economic zones was recorded at over $3.36 billion, up over 34 percent compared to the previous year.
Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo was impressed by the progress of the province and thanked the Preah Sihanouk administration for helping rescue 40 Filipinos from transnational crimes, adding that there are currently about 300 Filipinos living and working in the province. AKP
