More than 600 Cambodian Muslim families from two villages in Pursat province receive beef Qurban on the day of Raya Haji 2024 with the help of philanthropists in the United States
Pursat: Every year, philanthropists living in the United States, through the Zakat Foundation of America, regularly support humanitarian projects that contribute to community development in Cambodia. In fact, on the occasion of Raya Haji 2024, which was held on June 17, U.S philanthropists through the Zakat Foundation of America donated 52 million Riels to buy beef more than 600 Cambodian Muslim families from two villages of Cham Thmei and Dangkeap Kdam villages in Chheu Tom commune, Kroak district, Pursat province joined in the Raya Haji this year.
His Excellency Sles Nazy, Advisor to the Ministry of Information and President of the Cambodia Muslim Media center, which is affiliated with the Zakat Foundation of America, spoke at the Qurban Distribution Ceremony in Cham Thmey Village, Chheu Tom Commune, Kroak District that this is the ninth year that the Cambodia Muslim Media Center has received the project funded by the Zakat Foundation of America. As of 2024, more than 600 million Khmer Muslim families from two villages in Pursat province have received 52 million riels to buy cows for meat.
His Excellency expressed his pleasure and gratitude to the American philanthropists who contributed to this project in the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood. His Excellency Sles Nazy also reminded the people who participated in receiving beef to know how to unite and contribute to the development of the community, because the spirit of Hajj, especially the chanting of cows, it shows the spirit of devotion and unity. It shows the shared culture that Islam has taught since the time of the Prophet Ibrahim.
His Excellency also prayed to Allah to bless the donors and strongly hoped that the Zakat Foundation of America would continue to support this and other development projects in the cause of the community and nation. Especially Cambodian Muslims who received the beef and the local leaders all expressed their happiness and gratitude to the donors and the team of the Cambodia Muslim Media Center for their support of the beef.
It should be noted that the Qurban project has been part of the annual project in the humanitarian program that the Cambodia Muslim Media Center has been implementing in collaboration with philanthropists and foreign organizations in order to raise the common spirit and share for Community.
