A drug addict has been arrested for beating his 12-year-old niece to death while she sat reading
The Samrong Tong district criminal force, in cooperation with the Sambo police force, arrested Sem Kimsem, a 33-year-old man in connection with the intentional murder of his 12-year-old niece, Phan Karuna, while the girl was reading a book on the stairs of her house.
Kampong Speu provincial police confirmed that after arresting the man, the suspect confessed that he had beaten his niece with a stick, causing her death.
He stated that he murdered her “because she was too anxious. ”
According to the family, the man had been sent before to a drug rehabilitation center for six months
The brutal killing took place at 6:50 pm on August 1, 2023, at the scene in Kraing Leav village, Sambo commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province. The man will be sent to the specialized office of Kampong Speu Provincial Police for legal action.
