Cambodia has grabbed another silver medal in WT Taekwondo at the 21st ASEAN University Games in Indonesia, said Mr. Choi Yongsok, South Korean Coach of Cambodian National WT Taekwondo.
Ms. Chhoeurng Alisa won the silver medal in the U57kg category, after losing to her Indonesian opponent in the final.
As of July 2, Cambodia has earned five medals including one gold, two silver and two bronze. The gold and bronze medals were won in Petanque, while the silver ones in Judo and WT Taekwondo, according to the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC).
The 21st ASEAN University Games, taking place from June 25 to July 6, aims to promote solidarity and traditional and cultural exchange among students from ASEAN universities as well as to provide a good opportunity for ASEAN students to set their sports skills.
Cambodia has sent 45 sports delegates, coaches and athletes of six kinds of sports – petanque, Taekwondo, athletics, karate, swimming and judo – for the regional games.
