The Australian government has supported inclusive policymaking in Cambodia by empowering local research and policy organisations to address pressing development challenges with innovative, locally driven solutions.
According to the Australian Embassy in Cambodia’s news release on Dec. 30, Mr. Andreas Zubbrugg, Head of Development Cooperation, participated in a recent dissemination workshop on the research findings of “Climate Change Adaptation Through a Cash-Transfer Programme in Cambodia – Empirical Experiences from Coastal Communities.”
The event was hosted by the National Institute of Social Affairs, the Advocacy and Policy Institute, and the Fisheries Action Coalition Team, with support from The Asia Foundation’s Ponlok Chomnes II: Data and Dialogue for Development in Cambodia programme.
The workshop brought together 70 participants, including government officials, researchers, students, community members and civil society representatives, to explore how cash-transfer programmes can enhance climate resilience in Cambodia’s coastal communities.
“Through partnerships with government, local communities and civil society, Australia remains committed to advancing sustainable and inclusive solutions that align with global climate goals while fostering equitable economic growth,” reaffirmed the embassy.
